They say “home is where the heart is." I can definitely see the truth in that. To me, home is security, love, and warmth. Home is also where I share a space with the ones I love the most.
Watch Kayla as she creates a mixed media "home" sign using a variety of materials. Mixed media is a collage of different items, which is how I picture a home... full of different people with different personalities, but we all come together to form one family unit, or in other words, a “Home."
Supplies Needed to Make This Spring Sign (suggested locations for supplies):
- 10" x 10" Wood surface
- Scrapbook paper
- ModPodge
- Gator sander, sandpaper or nail file
- Burnt Umber, Milk Chocolate, Black acrylic paint
- Baby wipes
- Hot glue gun
- Green reindeer moss (Dollar Tree)
- Circle ring (can use a mini grapevine wreath)
- Mini spindles
- Nautical rope (Dollar Tree)
- Metal ribbon (Hobby Lobby)
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Baby sponge
- Jinga blocks (Dollar Tree)
- Wooden beads
- Ribbon
I love this mixed media “Home” sign by Kayla and how the materials are different, but they all complement each other and come together to make a gorgeous piece of décor.
